Area Management Jobs in Camping
Area managers in camping and caravanning (mobile home sites) are recruited for larger operations that have groups of campsites to manage. These are organised into a geographical area, the size of the area can vary from a few miles up to multiple countries where the sites are hundreds of miles apart. The day-to-day role of an area manager varies massively between companies but normally includes duties such as overseeing and training all levels of staff in all aspects of the job, you may also be tasked with recruitment and staffing, overseeing and organising maintenance staff and performing contract negotiations with campsites if you are working for an operator.
Being an Area Manager in camping is a great job and can lead to a proper career in the industry, you will need to be very mature, extremely calm under pressure and possess excellent people and communication skills. These jobs are normally filled from within the organisation but experience in a similar role will help, we would say that a good level of the local language such as French, Italian, German, Dutch or Spanish is essential for an Area Manager but some companies don't specify this.
