We are looking for a highly organised and hardworking individual to manage our catering team. The team comprises of a Cook and around three Front of House Assistants. At Grittleton Adventures we offer schools an outdoor activity packed residential trip. Throughout each day they will take part in a whole range of adventurous and team building activities. After building up a huge appetite they will be provided with three meals a day.
The role will involve overseeing the management of the team; designing a weekly rota of jobs, overseeing food management including stock take and ordering, plus ensuring that all this is done within a budget. Our Catering Manager will also take the lead on advising about dietary requirements both during service and prior to arrival. As a small team it is important that the manager is also very hands on with serving meals and cleaning the dining rooms themselves to ensure that the work can get done. We also ask that our Catering Manager prepares breakfast Tuesday to Friday. This mainly comprises of cereals, toast, yoghurts, fruits and a minimal hot offering such as beans or eggs on toast.
You will be provided with all the training you need for the role however experience in a catering environment or a supervisory role is essential. Throughout the season you will have the support of the senior management team but to be successful in your role, you will need to be organised, good at multi tasking, have great communication skills and be able to get the best from your team.
Full Time: Tuesday to Thursday 7am-3pm , Friday 7am – 2pm and 3pm-8pm Monday to Thursday
Flexibility is required for the occasional weekend work aswell.
Role will start on a Fixed Term contract until the 7th November with the aim to make the role permanent from then on.
