Responsibilities
- We are looking for an enthusiastic, self-motivated chef, who is passionate about producing great food in our quality island pub.
- Duties include but are not limited to:
- Working with locally sourced ingredients.
- Daily preparation of fresh ingredients including fish and shellfish.
- Working alongside the head chef to develop the menu.
- Contributing dishes to the daily specials board.
- Adhering to the highest level of food hygiene standards at all times.
- Managing stock rotation.
- Working closely with the team and training across all areas of the kitchen.
- Helping with off site catering, weddings and a variety of other events.
- Good communication with the front of house team.
- Liaising with local suppliers.
Skills and experience needed
- 2 years experience ideally in a restaurant or gastro pub, however any culinary experience will be considered.
- A passion for great food working with the finest of locally sourced produce.
- An awareness of costing and kitchen financials.
- High standards of hygiene and organisation.
- Self-motivation to develop your skills as a chef.
- A great work ethic, with a positive attitude and energy.
- A great team player – essential!
