Join our Disaster Relief Project in Nepal

POSTED ON 22 May 2015 - POSTED BY Projects Abroad

Projects Abroad is launching a Disaster Relief Project in response to the recent earthquakes in Nepal.

Projects Abroad has operated in Nepal since 1999 and has long-standing relationships with many organisations in Chitwan, Kathmandu, the Kathmandu Valley and Ghandruk, especially with schools, children’s homes and hospitals. Unfortunately all of these placements have been affected.

The objective of the Disaster Relief project is to help some of the many children whose schools have been damaged return to school. The Disaster Relief project will focus on setting up alternative spaces where children can receive education. Volunteers will also help to teach and care for the children in these temporary schools.

As a volunteer you will be located in Kathmandu Valley and you will be part of a team who will be re-building local schools, assembling tents for temporary schools and teaching in those schools, providing day care for families who have small children and participating in monthly medical outreach initiatives.
