Summer Jobs in UK booming

It may be a struggle overseas at the moment but summer season recruiters in the UK have rarely been busier

This year there’s been a mini jobs boom in the UK tourist industry as many people decide to stay at home for their holidays.

Pontin’s reported an 18% increase in bookings this year. They said “We’re recruiting 25% more Bluecoats this year and are always on the look-out for good people for both the frontline and behind the scenes. We’re also interested in hearing from graduates looking for a wealth of experience. There are great opportunities here.”

Butlins is investing millions in expansion and also has vacancies to fill. Last winter Haven Holidays invested £41million in its 35 family holiday parks – they say they are always keen to add talented and enthusiastic individuals to its team. Another British company on the march is Park Resorts, which has 39 holiday parks, they recruit all sorts of staff on a seasonal and permanent basis.

All of these companies respect customer service experience, even more-so if it’s coupled with living abroad and dealing with complicated situations. As with working summer seasons abroad, many seasonal roles can lead to permanent positions in the leisure industry.
